Terms of Use

Digital platform of CDB bank (Continental Digital Banking & Global Payments)

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern use of the web version of the personal account, payment cards and savings balances provided by CDB bank.

1. User requirements and access to the service

1.1. Age and legal capacity

The service is available only to a person who is 18 or older and can enter an agreement.

1.2. Geographic coverage

The service has been online at www.cdbgp.com and www.cdbgp.net since 2014 and is open to clients from any country. A physical card can be posted only to an address in the European Union (see clause 3.2).

1.3. Personal use

A personal account is for personal, family or household needs. It is not a business account for regular commercial activity or for taking commercial payments.

2. Security rules for the digital profile

2.1. Authentication

Access to the personal account uses a password. Where the service asks for a code, that code is sent to the email address on the account.

2.2. Data confidentiality

You are responsible for keeping your access details safe. CDB bank does not ask you to send:

  • the full password for the personal account;
  • the PIN of the payment card;
  • the CVC2/CVV2 code (the three-digit code on the back of the card).

2.3. If access is lost

If the phone is lost, a payment looks wrong, or someone else may have access to the account, block the card in the client area and write to support@cdbgp.com or support@cdbgp.net.

3. Rules for the use of cards and accounts

3.1. Use of the current account

The current account is used for transfers inside CDB bank, SEPA transfers by IBAN, and the cross-border transfers offered in the client area (Global Payments).

Do not use the account for illegal payments, including payments for weapons, prohibited substances, or cryptocurrency on an unlicensed exchange.

3.2. Classic and Plus cards

  • Classic is issued in digital form after the profile is verified. It is for online payments and other payments shown for that card.
  • Plus is a physical plastic card with a higher limit.
  • A physical card can be ordered only to an address in the European Union. Delivery costs 13.00 EUR, taken from the balance when the order is confirmed.
  • A false address, or an address that belongs to someone else, including a short-stay hotel address given without telling support, is a breach of these Terms.
  • The card currency is the euro. A payment in another currency is converted by the payment network on the day it is taken.

4. Rules for generating and using statements (means of subsistence)

4.1. Intended purpose

An official account statement is a PDF of the movements on the account for the period you choose. It is ordered in the client area and sent to your email. You may use it when you need to show sufficient means of subsistence for a Schengen or national visa application. CDB bank does not set the amount an authority requires.

4.2. Prohibition of data manipulation

Changing the PDF, the balance, the dates, the name or the payments is a breach of these Terms. If that is found, CDB bank may close the account without reopening it.

4.3. What the statement does not decide

You submit your own statement. CDB bank does not decide whether a consulate, embassy or immigration service accepts it.

5. Rules for the use of savings balances

5.1. Placement of funds

Savings balances are held on the personal account.

5.2. Interest rates

Published yearly rates are 1.75% on a notice balance, 2.40% for six months and 3.10% for twelve months. The rate applies only to the balance and term shown for that product.

5.3. Early withdrawal

If a term balance is taken out before the end of the term, the principal is paid in full. Interest for the days the balance was held is recalculated at the notice rate of 1.75% a year.

6. Limitation of liability

6.1. Availability

The client area is meant to be available continuously. CDB bank is not responsible for a failure of your internet connection or of your internet provider.

6.2. Visa decisions

CDB bank is not responsible for a visa refusal by a consulate or embassy, including where a correct account statement from CDB bank was part of the application.
